  • Propeller style steering wheel wanted

    Hi all!

I know it's impossible to find, and yet: if anyone would wish to sell, or knows where to get the propeller style steering wheel, would greatly appreciate any info. Thank you in advance!

    Hi Art,

The propeller steering wheel is indeed very hard to find. And the ones who have it don't want to part. For good reason.

Sometimes a steering wheel pops up, but usually without the needed hub. Chances to find a complete set is almost impossible. Unless you find a Spyker attached to it

Do you own a Spyker yourself?

Thank you for your reply! Yes I have already understood, that it is nearly impossible to find, but I will keep looking, or maybe somebody here would get back to me on that.... I have seen a thread here, posted a couple years ago, that even two of such steering wheels were available...

I am myself not an owner, my friend is, and he has asked me to help him out.

      He owns a Spyker C8 Laviolette, 2006

      Thank you

Can you ask your friend to tell us the last three digits of his VIN number?

You're welcome. So is there a way you could help to find this wheel? Thank you

The problem is, that even when you find the steering wheel, the factory will not provide you with a hub...

Of course there is a full propeller steering wheel for sale right now, but it has a whole Spyker double 12 attached:lol::lol::lol:

Well, I would appreciate if I would have at least the wheel itself found, the hub is a problem too, but it is a problem number two.

Also, maybe you want to have the wheel for the true look, not to drive it with the wheel, as far as I understand the factory does not want to provide the wheel or the hub our of safety reasons? (on the other hand, how come cars where actually built and sold with such wheel :-) I am sorry maybe there is an explanation I don't know

Speaking of the option to buy the wheel with a Spyker attached to it, it's good joke, I am hearing it for a few times now :-))

Anyhow, I would be happy to hear from anyone who would sell or know where to buy the propeller wheel. Thank you !

The early cars have a lot of small car manufacture exemptions. In time, or through volume, the cars will have less an less exemptions.

The original Spyker design propeller steering wheel eventually needed to be replaced. First the Lotus steering wheel was fitted, later, the Gallardo steering wheel with the air bag. The latest cars eve have a passenger airbag.

... this is actually not a joke. If you have a Spyker, I am sure you could put it up on the market and get an early chassis number instead. Moneywise, it may be a break even. Updating other things, like airconditioning or steering radius will be less of a problem!

Option 2. Did you talk to manufacturers of classic car replica steering wheels? Examples are: Nardi (Tradate, Italy), Moto-Lita (Thruxton, UK) or Flaming River. There is also this website, or Ebay lists some... wouldn't know any better .... sorry, I haven't used that. I used option 1 .

I'm still working on one, but it takes some doing to get it complete, and there are a lot of interested parties.

Hello! Option 1 would not work just fine for us, as the car is located not in Europe or USA, but option 2 sounds quite interesting. Of course, it's better to have the original one. But if it will be impossible,I would try to contact these companies. thank you!

I realize that there are a lot of interested parties since it's a hard-to-get item, especially complete with a hub.
I am an interested party too, this is why I would appreciate if you could PM me your conditions/price etc., maybe we come to an agreement. Thank you
