  • Promised myself I would never do this but...

...promised myself I would never be a vanity license plate kinda guy, but with new Spyker on the way and a need for new plates, I was thinking of breaking down and putting something pithy on the plates.

Could go for the obvious, "Spyker", assuming that's not taken, or perhaps "Spyder 086", but some may think I'm younger than I am

    Hit me with some ideas!

"Dutch" or some variant of "Dutch Demon" -- someone called it that in an article recently.

Road and Track called the Spyker a "Dutch Masterpiece In Aluminum", if that gives you any ideas.

Variants on the Latin motto are possible, but would be an insider thing.

Unlike at the New York DMV, in New Jersey you cannot just look at plate combinations without giving your drivers license number and part of your social security number

So, nobody can help you to see which combinations are still available.

Combined Dutch masterpiece and Dutch master Vincent van Gogh.
VAN GO crossed my mind. To far fetched?

Has "SPYKER" gone in NJ - or rather are you going to get it before me?

I'll settle for SPYDER I suppose.

Actually I've never got round to doing this before - I always lose interest when I realise it involves a visit to the DMV or registering on their hopeless site.... tell me what's involved??

If Spyker is gone, you can go for the original spelling: Spijker
