The rumour is going that Spyker has shown interest in Saab as the 4th bidder

woken up to the news of Spyker being the fourth mystery bidder.

Spyker Cars NV, the Dutch maker of $235,000 sports cars, has also expressed interest and has been seeking to put together a group of investors, people familiar with the matter said today. Spyker, based in Zeewolde, the Netherlands, hasn't been profitable since it sold shares to the public in 2004. Spyker Chief Executive Officer Victor Muller couldn't be reached on his mobile phone. An assistant in his office said the executive is traveling in the U.S.

That's an idea that you have to get used to! I think it's interesting but it doesn't sounds logical. Spyker builds around 1 car in a week, Saab a 100. This can be the big save for spyker and saab, or a fatal mistake. I don't know.

Hmm... it would be nice if it would work, but I think this is again a bridge too far for Spyker...

Victor, Noooooo! There's a reason Saab has not been scooped up. If it had value, the market would recognize that. With Audi and Volvo rather healthy, there's no market share for a resurgent Saab, at least based on the current product line. Subaru has filled the quirky niche.

Saab is a heritage brand, with roots in Airplanes as well. I am excited about the idea, if for nothing else than to piggyback some of Saab's logistics...
