    • Marketing

One buzz word in today's business world is MARKETING.

However, people often ask for a simple explanation of "Marketing."
      Well, here it is:

      * You're a woman and you see a handsome guy at a party. You go up to him and say, "I'm fantastic in bed."
      That's Direct Marketing.

      * You're at a party with a bunch of friends and see a handsome guy.
One of your friends goes up to him and, pointing at you, says, "She's fantastic in bed."
      That's Advertising.

      * You see a handsome guy at a party. You go up to him and get his telephone number. The next day you call and say, "Hi, I'm fantastic in bed."
      That's Telemarketing.

      * You see a guy at a party; you straighten your dress. You walk up to him and pour him a drink.
You say, "May I?" and reach up to straighten his tie, brushing your breast lightly against his arm,
and then say, "By the way, I'm fantastic in bed."
      That's Public Relations.

      * You're at a party and see a handsome guy. He walks up to you and says, "I hear you're fantastic in bed."
      That's Brand Recognition.

*You're at a party and see a handsome guy. He fancies you, but you talk him into going home with your friend
      That's a Sales Rep.

      * Your friend can't satisfy him so he calls you.
      That's Tech Support.

      * You are at a party; this unattractive older man walks up to you and grabs your ass.
      That's Donald Trump.

      * You didn't mind it at the time, but twenty years later your attorney decides you were offended and you are awarded a settlement.

      That's America !

                    • [QUOTE=SpykerOwner;35980]Nice clock![/

                      Hi Hans and Rijk,

Does anybody really know what time it is?

Let's do a little analysis.... I guess it depends on where the quantity markers (parentheses) are in the minute side of the equation! I submit the clock is a 24 hour clock and it is displaying 18:00 hours (6*3) and then, let's address the potential minutes reading. Are they, (6+7) * 7, or 6 + (7*7)? It must be 6+(7*7) equaling 54, since the (6+7) * 7 equals 91, which is outside the parameters of normal time displays. So, I think the time is 18:54 hours. OR, perhaps the clock manufacturer should have given us a quadratic equation option to program into the minute algorithm.

Now, we have to ask, "Does it really matter?" The answer is, "No." But I can take you back to 1970 when I was young and things were more important:

And then, was it 25 minutes to 4:00am (3:35am) OR 6 minutes to 4:00 (3:54am)?

I guess I just know what time it is and don't have time enough to care!

                          Hi Kurt,

Oh yes, a Stones fan also! Written by Jerry Ragovoy (Norman Meade) and first recorded by Kai Winding and then Irma Thomas. However, nobody does it better than Mick! I believe the Stones first covered it on their 12 X 5 album.

                            • Hi Kurt,

Thought you might find this interesting. The Shelby factory referenced in this video was two blocks away from where I grew up in Torrance, CA. There were aluminum Cobra bodies on racks on the walls of the factory waiting to be assembled into the epic cars that they became: https://youtu.be/tej4L0Bhpec. It appears that the link to the song may be malfunctioning, so I've included it below:

Here's the song by the Rip Chords: https://youtu.be/gtT0fWYJqbE
