Silly question but were the fuel caps always plastic or were they made of aluminum or stainless steel at some point in the past? I have plastic ones and they feel "cheap".

Fun fact ; all caps are unique since they are handcasted and handpolished.

Possibly displaying my ignorance but do the oil caps need to maintain a certain pressure? I know radiator caps can be quite finicky in that regard if not just right.

Good question; an oil filler cap has one purpose ; sealing.

The aluminium part is clicked on a plastic part which is part of an Audi filler cap. This is exactly like OEM
