Thanx for posting amzamz. I went through these photographs and found one of the VIN plate in the engine room:

                spyker_38a.jpg

Not entirely readible (of course ) but it seems to say: XL9BA12.......... But that does contradict with:

Which is a strange sequence anyway because BA11G is a Laviolette structured VIN and BA12G a Double 12 sequence VIN. The corresponding Double 12 VIN number should therefore be: XL9BA12G26Z363126 (the checkdigit also changes) for MY 2006 or XL9BA12G07Z363126 for MY 2007. In both cases Chopster would had to have 2 digits wrong, which seems strange.

                Not sure what to think...

Forget about the word 'seems' : there is no doubt about the 12.

Thanx SpykerOwner! Much better, I'm sure even you can see it now Matt (Just Kidding!) Not sure about the rest of the VIN though. There are some photographs after cleaning the VIN plate but these are too far away it seems

                          I love the rivets!

Is the lic. plate real or Photoshop do you think?

                            Plate is real !

Just noticed the Double 12 doesn't have the same hinge-system for the rear bodywork.

                            For example:

#170 and #172. Here you see that the rear chrome part acts as a hinge for the complete rear body work. It's different for the double 12.

                            170 (6).jpg 172.JPG

So, is it possible to 'open' the rear of a double 12 like a C8?

image_11017.jpg I'm not sure but I think you're right IVR. I never saw a double 12 with the rear bodywork open. Photographs of Double 12's being worked on always show the rear body work completely of the car.

Thanks LavioletteGT2R! I was looking for a picture like that. I can imagine the rear bodywork is simply too heavy to make it hinge.
