  • Silvestris

It all started with the Silvestris, this car has been home build by Maarten de Bruin and was the base for the Spyker C8. I don't know about a chassis number (if it has even got one ). This is the only picture I have got from the car. I took this picture in 2002, with the old situation at the factory where they shared the building with Cavallino racing (Peter van Erp).

I believe it's now back at Maarten's house. I saw that on tv a while back.

            Maarten still owns this prototype.

I found an interesting interview with Maarten de Bruijn, dated March 2004, on how he developed the Silvestris. It is a real interesting read. Unfortunately it is in Dutch. The Google translation will have to do for now, but it does not recognise all technical terms so I am planning a manual translation this weekend.

Somehow this car reminds me of a Lancia Flavia.

Bucciali, some of those pictures seem to fail when i try to open them. Could you post them again with the right thread please? I'm quite interested in this archetype of the renaissance spykercars. It's a pitty that it's APK (MOT/TUV) has expired since 2003, tough it has been driven in the meanwhile....
