Because your Spyker was registered in the UK the RDW check was not neccesary.
My Spyker does not have a EU registration yet.

When i go to the RDW without first registration in the EU They have to do a individual check. The problem will be the Emmision/CO2. Other countries like Germany and the UK do not look for emmision/co2. They only look to the safety of the car like lights, etc.

Almost every brand that has problems with CO2 in the Netherlands does use the UK or TUV trick.

So there are no problems with my Spyker only the rules in the netherlands are different than other EU countries.

And yes, I also have to pay our minister Bos of finance a lot of money (BPM) before they will "give" me my plates!

BPM = (equals) very expensive plates...

But be glad it's not newer than 03-2008! A was looking at a 'below the radar' small and fast car, (04-2008 Golf 5 R32 ). Found a nice one in Germany. But because this is a car from 04-2008 you have to pay 'slurptax'(replacement BPM) on import!!!!
Doesn't look to be cheaper.

Not yet.

Even with green plates it is very risky to drive with it.
Because the car is not a registered stock car of a dealer I can get a very big penalty if i drive with it.

Only an employee of a dealer is allowed to drive with green plates (and only when he has got it to repair something) when the registered owner is a privat person.

The cars that you see with green plates and customers are registerde stock cars of a dealer. Customers are only allowed to test the car in a small circle around the dealer. Even parking at a public parking place is forbidden because parking is not a part of a test drive! It has happend in the past that a customer parked his test car with green plate in front of IKEA. The dealer is responsible and had to pay BPM + a 100% penalty.

That are the stupid rules in the Netherlands. The person that made this rule must be very sick.

This message has nothing to do with this Thread but the stupid Dutch rules are a very big frustration of all Dutch people i think.

Anyway, thats why i did not drive any mile with my Spyker yet.

Usually they do a small tour, but last year they did not want anybody to take pictures, and it only took 10 minutes, I hope this will be different for our group.

Thanks Rijk. I joined the Spyker owner forum almost one year ago, because I like the cars, and because I owned shares at the time. Recently I bought some shares again, because I think the company is on track to really get going again, with the new C8 Aileron.

I visited the annual shareholders meeting last year, so I did have a look around the workshop and sports department. Do you know if the production line can be visited as well? Where exactly is it located?
