  • #005 - C8 Laviolette

Spyker C8 Laviolette, black with red interior. I took these pics at the factory in September 2002. A german Car magazine tested the laviolette and they made some pictures in front of the factory.

I am not sure SO, but it might have something to do with the quote challenge of 2002?

Like the Spyker #001, there is nothing on the middle console. No heating and cooling knobs and fans. The steering wheel has the horn, but there is no doorhandle?. The bottom of the dashboard is not quilted. The control lights are still small and the switches don't have their protective pieces between them (like in the Mini, to protect you from hurting yourself in case of an accident).

Rijk, I drove a few meters with the Laviolette (passenger) and if I remember right the doors opened with a remote control.

The doors still open with a remote control, but you don't want to be dependent on that.

And the fuelfillercap is on the bonnet.

Is it true that you can open the doors with a button under the doormirror?

A nice one of #005 (sorry about the low quality), at early development stages: Tryout of a 1 HP engine layout :lol:

Photographed in the factory in 2004 by SV12.com, the Taiwain dealer.

The enige bay looked way different back then, in fact, the whole car did. And I must say over all it has improved a lot!

The original has no interior mirror nor a window between the engine and the passenger compartment.

The cut-off tube on the inside of the doors are now used for the electrical windows switches. However, on this car they seem to be used as interior vents. This goes better with the design, but might not have been very effective.

                            More observations:

                            Different pedal box

                            Silver dials

No door-entry lights at the bottom of the doors

                              And more:

                              Modular (?) propeller wheels

Cross drilled rather than slotted brake rotors
