On my US Spyker, before my registration was complete I drove around also on Manufacturer Plates. Just like dealer plates. I think they are registered to the company, not to the car.
What - so in Holland you can't change the cars plates???
Indeed, the license plate belongs to the car not the owner. And you can't have custom license plates. Although quite recently a politician in NL suggested we should be allow custom license plates.
So chances are we will get them in the near future. Let's say in a year or 10
In the US you can customize your plates. I like that and went through many of them. Nowadays there is a website, so you can try your combination, and the website will tell you if it is still available.
