  • Matchbox 1904 Spyker scale model

... did you know that there is a 1904 Spyker prototype matchbox scale car valued at $ 15,000 ? (source)

"...the model of the Dutch-built 1904 Spyker that Kenneth More drove in Genevieve, the movie that kick-started the old-car collector movement in 1956.
''The standard yellow Spyker as in the movie is valued today at $50-$70 but I was fortunate many years ago to buy the prototype in two-tone green and another pre-production model in maroon.
''Today, the prototype is valued at $15,000.''"

The pictures below show the more common color variants. Source here.
The third picture is the green prototype mentioned above. Source here.

... be careful with the green one. There are similar products, like the one on offer here. Not Matchbox (Lesney), but manufactured in Hong Kong by Cragstan.

The valuable green Matchbox prototype exists only in 1 piece, and it is in safe hands in Australia I was told!
