    Well said, Swisstrader!

Thank you Swisstrader. If I understand you correctly, you like Spyker for its intrinsic properties and not for reasons concerning (social) status.
I'm asking because a lot of expensive cars are admired partly because owning one buys you status. I don't think you and 50Cent have the same reasons for buying a sports car. Maybe 50cents is keeping up with with an other kind of Joneses.

Exactly...I know this sounds funny to some people, but one of my "problems" I have with the car is EVERYONE wants to stop you and have a conversation about the car. If I go into town to grab a bagel in the local bagel shop, I'll have to answers questions from people for 20 mins. So, while I did not buy it for status, some people will think you must be a rock star or some sort of celebrity for driving a car.

Also watch the video that Justice just put up entitled "walk around the Spyker", which pretty accurately reflects why I bought the car.

I hear ya, well it's interesting though, with my Lambo people make comments such as 'Look at that rich bastard - I guess the economy did screw him' and with my Porsche - if someone knows what it is I get 'wow I haven't seen one of those in a long time - is it a real slant nose?' and if I am in my 1960 MG A I get 'that is in great condition, beautiful car man - enjoy it' and my Smart Car Convertible I get 'is that electric?' Lastly my Nissan GTR lately gets the most attention with "WHAT THE HECK IS THAT?!?!?!"

Sometimes the questions get overbearing, but I am usually very willing to answer them without being bothered, but I have to say that even when people see me on my cell phone they will stalk me asking questions - that drives me nuts!

Funny stuff!...I had a woman pull up to my car a couple days ago and say "car looks great, you look great in the car and I bet it cost you a fortune...so much for a crappy recession!"...one of the few times in my life I was speechless:lol:

            • A downturn like the one we are in produces some excellent buying opportunities if you only have the scratch to take advantage of them.

In their 'nieuws' section they mention that they have sold a silver C8 Spyder, and they now have a GT2R (0-60 mph in 3.7s !!) and a Aubergine/tan C8 spyder with chronoswiss dials.

Laviolette GT2R, could you edit the list with the GT2R? Thanks!

                        • The GT2R is not a GT2R but a Double 12R (#019 if I'm not mistaken) I saw this car at a lot of different dealers over the year which makes me believe that this one is used for promotional purposes by Spyker and not for Sale (This Double 12R is also not listed as being for Sale at VD Akker).

                          • Aha, this is what vd Akkers is saying in the ´news section´. They don't explicitly mention that it's for sale so you're probably right. And they got the name wrong.
